Want a roadmap to hygiene growth?

For 16 years, we’ve been showing practice owners where the opportunity is to grow their hygiene department…ethically, rapidly and with support of your team. Sometimes they do it on their own. Sometimes they work with us to accomplish it.

In March, we are offering our Hygiene Growth Roadmap process at a special rate.

This process repeatedly identifies $100k-500k in growth opportunity that doesn’t involve selling a bunch of crazy products or pushing patients into treatment they don’t need.

The investment to identify a minimum of $100k growth is $1800 (usually $2100) for the month of March.

If we don’t identify at least $100k in growth potential, it won’t cost you a dime.

Why not reach out and talk with us about it? Email Clients@inspiredhygiene.com or call 704-5410-0995. We’re here for you.

What if it does?

It’s a new year! There are a lot of new things to consider! It’s common to say, “I’m going to do this new thing…” but what if it doesn’t work?

I challenge you to think and say, “What if it does?

As a leader, it’s up to you to share a “what if it does” attitude with your team — no matter what!

Here are four action items to get your New Year off to a great start:

1. What’s your big purpose?
Dig deep. Go beyond the surface. Why do you come to work? Discuss this with your team and write down every team member’s reasons. Remember: all reasons are valid.

2. What is your no matter what?
Write out your own phrases, each ending in “no matter what.” Here are three to get you started:

  • Tell the patient the truth about their periodontal disease… no matter what
  • Charge a fair fee and be proud of your services and fees… no matter what
  • Perform a periodontal evaluation… no matter what

3. Find a new way to measure success.
In business, we often measure success by profit. Think of four new ways to measure your success. Write them down and track them for at least 3 months, then celebrate your measured success! Here are some examples:

  • Seating a new patient on time
  • New patient treatment conversions (number of new patients returning for treatment)
  • Decreased open time on doctor and hygiene schedules

4. What does each team member need to master in order to accomplish items 1-3?
Have each team member identify two behaviors they need to master. Write them down, share them with one another and post them where you can see them every day. Ask someone to be your accountability partner.

At Inspired Hygiene, we want nothing more than your success. Contact us at info@inspiredhygiene.com or (877) 237-7230 for more information on how we can help you and your team bring success to your new year.

Stay Inspired,

Nobody Told Me That

I hope if you’re practice has opened for full-service dental care, you’ve had a great week. If you’re still waiting to open, we wish you all the best as you plan and prepare and communicate with your team.

I wanted to share this podcast with you for 2 reasons:

1-This is a fantastic podcast and I strongly encourage you to check it out. It’s designed to break down all there is to learn to be a strong dental practice administrator and/or owner.

2-In this episode, I take an administrator’s approach to review the AAP’s recent update to the perio classification system. I believe it’s very important for the business team to understand this as well as the clinical team.

How much time will you need?

First, I pray you and your family and team are well. This is such an unusual time. Please know our hearts are with you.

The truth is, none of us know exactly what it will be like when it’s time to reopen. Last week, we did a webinar to help you outline a few steps to develop a plan for the hygiene schedule when it’s time to start seeing patients again. Here’s the link to register for the replay.

Some questions I’m hearing now are…

How much time should we schedule for a hygiene visit with the new infection control processes?

If we are slammed with patients wanting to get in, should we shorten appointment times to get patients in?

In this week’s video, I’ll answer these and share a few more insights. I’d love to hear the topics or questions you’re curious about. Just respond to this email and let me know.

Another Way Hygiene Brings Value to Your Practice

I recently did a series of videos with my friends at Tusk Partners. Tusk is an advisory firm that helps single and multi-location group practices strategically grow and improve. They are a great resource for learning about the DSO market and how it’s impacting dentistry.

In this video, Kevin Cumbus and I talk about how the hygiene department impacts the value of a practice and a point of value that you may not have thought of before.

I’m always happy to chat with you and analyze your hygiene department to see where you might have room to grow.

It Takes a Team

Inspired Hygiene… not just for Dental Hygienists! It takes a team. Hear what Doctor and Mrs. Jones had to say after day two of visit one.

FAADOM business manager talks about Inspired Hygiene

One thing I love most about attending conferences is that I always bump into dental teams that we’ve worked with.

At AADOM this summer, I got to visit with dental practice Business Manager & FAADOM, Kim Yates and she shared the huge improvement her team achieved with the guidance of an expert Inspired Hygiene coach.

Take less than a minute to listen to what her team accomplished in just a few months time.

Is Your Equipment Working?

So often when we are on-site with clients, a team member shares their frustration that a critical piece of equipment isn’t working. It’s usually an intra-oral camera, by the way.

What’s interesting is that the dentist/owner/practice manager is often not aware of the issue. Think of the care that’s NOT being presented and accepted during those days and weeks that the camera is out of commission.

This is a great, short video to share with your team and remind you to double check that everything is in good working order.

But Do the Changes Really Stick?

Recently at the AADOM annual session, I had the chance to catch up with IH clients Dr. Gerner & Tracy of True North Dental in NY. Dr. Gerner made a point to come up to me in the crowded hall and here’s what he shared.

The systems Inspired Hygiene brought to our hygiene team have really stayed in place. Before working with our coach, Jamie, hygiene averaged around $90/hr and they are now consistently at $130/hr. We are very happy with the results. Thank you Inspired Hygiene!

This always warms my heart. If you’d like results like this in your practice, schedule a complimentary strategy session to see how we can help.

Has Your Hygiene Department Been Left Behind?

We see it all the time. The doctor(s) have invested lots of hours and money in high level CE to take their clinical skills to the next level.  These are the doctors we LOVE to work with. They value clinical excellence.

And yet, there’s often a gap in the practice. This gap is the difference in the clinical effectiveness of the dentist and that of the hygiene team.

It’s not anyone’s ‘fault’. It’s an oversight that often goes unnoticed because the practice is busy and everyone is working day to day to keep it moving forward.

We see this gap show up in many ways:

  • Hygiene equipment is out-dated or worn out and it’s affecting clinical results
  • Under-diagnosed periodontal disease
  • Hygienists aren’t on the same page with diagnosis & treatment planning
  • The team has forgotten that offering optimal care is just as important in the hygiene op as it is in the doc’s op

If you feel you’re experiencing this clinical effectiveness gap, give us a call. We’re here to listen and see how we can help.
