A Look Inside the Bootcamp

You’ve likely seen in the last few weeks that we’re launching a brand new version of our Perio Protocol Online Bootcamp on January 26. It will be available for purchase until February 2 so if you’re interested, watch this quick video to see what the program looks like from the inside and then go over to periobootcamp.com and we’ll let you know when it’s ready for purchase.

This self-paced program is perfect for getting your team on the same page with a clear, written periodontal protocol and it offers CE credit for every participant in your practice.

Learn more about the Perio Protocol Online Bootcamp and, if you share your email with us, we’ll let you know when the bootcamp is open AND you’ll be in the first group to get a great discount on the PPOB.

“Our practice first worked with Inspired Hygiene nearly 10 years ago. The PPOB was an impactful first step in developing our periodontal protocol and it has grown from there. As we have added new hygienists to our team, watching these webinars is part of our onboarding process and a great way to introduce our perio program to new team members.”

Change isn’t easy…

Change isn’t easy. Even when it’s eagerly anticipated change like a marriage, graduation or birth of a child, there are some hard moments and it takes us out of our comfort zones.

It’s not unusual for teams to be a tad nervous when their leader shares they’re considering working with a practice coach. So I decided to create a short video to help leaders communicate positively with their team and help calm the nerves that sometimes accompany this positive change.

Whatever kind of CE, coaching, consulting you’re considering bringing into your practice, this video will give you a couple of ‘pearls’ to ensure the project starts on a positive note.

Current Hygiene Schedule Issues

We’ve heard from a lot of teams across the country that while they were very busy after re-opening, the hygiene schedules are starting to look like Swiss cheese again. In this video, I share a few things to keep your eye on and get back to the systems that worked to keep patients on the schedule.

Hygiene Scheduling-think about these 2 things

If you’re like most of the teams we work with, your hygiene schedule is packed. And it’s most likely packed with delayed prophy and perio maintenance visits.

In this short video, I’d like to remind you of a couple of things to keep an eye on that will help you maintain strong hygiene production next week, next month and into next year.

Nobody Told Me That

I hope if you’re practice has opened for full-service dental care, you’ve had a great week. If you’re still waiting to open, we wish you all the best as you plan and prepare and communicate with your team.

I wanted to share this podcast with you for 2 reasons:

1-This is a fantastic podcast and I strongly encourage you to check it out. It’s designed to break down all there is to learn to be a strong dental practice administrator and/or owner.

2-In this episode, I take an administrator’s approach to review the AAP’s recent update to the perio classification system. I believe it’s very important for the business team to understand this as well as the clinical team.

Let’s stop the division

I hope you, your family and team remain well.  We are beginning to see dentistry begin to open up and this is creating all kinds of mixed emotions…relief and excitement, as well as fear and confusion. Where some are coming together in unity, others, unfortunately, are seeing the divide between dentists and hygienists get wider.

Whether you are a hygienist, dentist, assistant or administrator, you have a decision to make. You must decide whether you want to work together as a team to serve patients safely or decide to allow fear to divide you and damage the relationships you’ve worked so hard to build. Our patients need us and we need each other.

We made this video in hopes of inspiring some meaningful, positive communication between dentists and their teams. The key word here is communication. Stay in touch with each other. Talk respectfully about your plan for reopening. Listen, offer help.  Even if you don’t have all the answers, I know you can figure it out together. Inspired Hygiene and the entire dental educator community is here to help.

Failure to Launch

Have you ever thought about going into private coaching but have fears and reservations? Fear that you may not get the results that you are hoping for? Fear that you will not have a satisfactory ROI? Or fear that your team will be hesitant or offended by the suggestion that you need outside help? We routinely see all of these struggles that can ultimately lead to FAILURE TO LAUNCH for some of our clients.

In this short video, learn how a large growing team near Milwaukee, WI was able to overcome their fears to come together and embrace Inspired Hygiene’s private coaching and move together in a more cohesive approach to complete patient care.

How Often Should I Classify a Perio Patient?

With more and more practices using the AAP’s Staging & Grading system, we occasionally get the question ‘Do I have to go through the Staging & Grading process every time the patient comes in?’

So I created a short video to answer that question specifically.

Happy & Healthy Holidays

With the holidays upon us, it’s a good idea to remember these four easy steps to ‘Fireproof’ your arteries, complements of Dr. Amy Doneen and the Bale Doneen Method.

Step 1: Practice mindfulness – Chronic stress, which repeatedly activates the body’s fight-or-flight system, has long been linked to increased risk for heart attacks and strokes. Devote 10 minutes a day to mindful meditation and focus on your breathing and the present moment as you let stressful or upsetting thoughts float away.

Step 2: Step up physical activity – The number one cardiovascular benefit of regular exercise is reducing inflammation. Aim for at least 22 minutes of aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking, jogging, or biking, daily.

Step 3: Eat the rainbow – Consuming a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables has amazing cardiovascular benefits, including lower risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure and several forms of cancer.

Step 4: Get optimal dental care – A landmark BaleDoneen study is the first to show that oral bacteria from periodontal disease (PD) can actually cause cardiovascular disease (CVD), the leading killer of Americans. Studies show that excellent oral health can add years to your life!

We at Inspired Hygiene have one mission, to help you save the lives of your patients through excellence in Dental Hygiene care.
