If I slow down hygiene won’t I also slow down production?

I had a call with a private client team last week and I just had to share it with you. Every one of the three hygienists has made huge breakthroughs in their service to their patients and in their productivity. Yes, Allison and I have done a lot of high level training with them but the turning point for each of them was really moving through a point where they were out of their comfort zone doing something new. Or doing something they’ve always done in a new way. And recognizing that what’s on the other side is the results they’ve been looking for.

You know my motto is “Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone”. This doc and his team have lived it in a BIG way. They are a perfect example of how increasing hygiene appointment time can actually increase production through higher level services.

So I want to take a moment to brag on them. Please help me congratulate the team of Dr. Larry Hubbard in Statesboro, GA.

In the last 4 months they have slowed hygiene down to allow more time with patients, worked really hard to get the entire team of 12 on the same page with perio diagnosis,  treatment and scheduled AND refined how they enroll and care for their LANAP patients.

They now have a step-by-step sequence for how to care for these special laser surgery patients to ensure the best healing and results. And they’ve done this while increasing their production to over $200/hour. And folks, they’re not in some big metropolitan city…they’re in small-town Georgia!

If they can do it, so can you. Sometimes we need a little nudge and some hard and fast evidence that there’s a good reason to think differently about how we do things.  When you have that new knowledge and you implement it to change your systems and thinking you can be productive AND spend that quality time with your patients.

Can’t wait to tell you…

It was so great to have some family and rest time this week.  I’m going to keep this short today because I know a lot of you will probably get this as you’re returning from vacation and going through your emails.

Yesterday was Anna’s 4th Birthday! Here we are together about to go to her birthday dinner. I know every parent says it but I can’t believe it’s been 4 years. And this is also about the time I started Inspired Hygiene 8 years ago when we moved to Charlotte. We have been so blessed with steady and this year exponential growth of the business. I haven’t done it alone. I’ve invested huge amounts of time, energy, money into developing the programs and products we offer, getting them out to you and also being coached by those that have done this successfully before me in the dental industry and others. But I’m not the only one that’s worked hard.

Behind me all the way has been my family-primarily my mom, my husband and my kids. And my team of powerful ladies-Diane, Gretchen and Margo have been there for me every day to help me see the big picture when sometimes the details get in the way.

The next step is adding another coach and speaker. And we’ve done that!! I can’t wait to tell you all about her but for now, I have to resist. She’s diligently fulfilling the commitment to her current position with complete integrity and dedication.  And that’s why she’s such a great fit for IH.

So thanks for hanging in with me during a really busy time in our business the last couple months. I have a ton of new articles and videos and tele-classes I’m working on for you. In the next few weeks we’ll start releasing some of that. Until then, enjoy summer and I’ll see you next week!

Stay Inspired,

Rachel
